Stage 1011 | New Brighton- Bring your own food or check out one of the many great local take-out places here in town and BYOB or grab some local drinks from Bullseye Brewing (only a block away!) if you’d like.
- Bring you friends, family, co-workers, acquaintances, strangers you just met but have a passion for music and supporting local talent
- We have some benches and tables, but we do recommend bringing a lawn chair if you have one.
- We’ll provide the sound equipment, microphone, and piano – you bring the talent!
- (equipment provided: speakers, 2 microphones max, cables to plug in your own guitar. No drums are provided, you are more than welcome to bring a small travel kit or hand drums of choice!)
What to expect at an Open Mic Night:
We get it. Walking into a new space, especially alone, can feel intimidating. But open mic nights are some of the most welcoming and low-pressure events you’ll find. No expectations, no judgment – just a group of people coming together to enjoy music, creativity, and good vibes.
You’ll hear everything from original songs and acoustic covers to poetry, comedy, and spontaneous collaborations. Every performer brings something unique, and the audience is there simply to listen, support, and celebrate creativity.
You don’t need to perform, and you don’t need to know anyone. Just come as you are, grab a seat, and take it all in. Who knows? You might leave with a new favorite artist, friend, or even the confidence to step up next time!
If you want to chat ahead of time, give Andrew a call or text here at the shop. He’ll happily walk you through how the night works and help you feel comfortable coming in. Andrew will be running the open mic and will have all the answers to your questions.
