We believe music is for everyone, at every age. Our group classes are designed to bring people together to learn, move, and make music in a welcoming and creative space. Check out what’s coming up!

Tunes for Tots
For children ages 0–5 with a parent or guardian
Tunes for Tots is an inclusive, hands-on music class where children and their adults sing, move, and play together. Designed to help young children discover that everyone can be musical, this class is all about fun and exploration.
- Classes are grouped by developmental stage—we kindly ask you attend the session best suited for your child’s age
- Bringing siblings? Just note it on the registration form—we’ll make sure everyone feels at home!
Cost: $15 for the first child, $10 per sibling

Young Artist’s Premier Workshop
For Grades 6–12 | New Brighton Public Library
Workshop Instructor: Albert Park
Take your playing from the practice room to the stage!
Our Modern Band Workshop brings together guitar, piano, bass, percussion, and vocals in a small-group setting where students learn how to rehearse, collaborate, and perform as a real band.
Students will learn:
- How to rehearse effectively as a group
- Basic live sound setup and equipment care
- Performance etiquette and stage presence
🎤 Includes a final live performance at Stage 1011, New Brighton
⚠️ Not for absolute beginners. Students should have at least 6 months of playing experience and be comfortable with basic chords and simple lead parts.
Spots are limited to keep a balanced band.
Cost: 5 classes and a performance: $270 + $25 Registration fee

Ukulele 101– Beginner Ukulele Group Class
For ages 12+
This series of Group Lessons is a continuation of the “You Can Uke!” Workshop. The classes will dive deeper into chord fingerings, how to read chord diagrams and chord progressions. Some music theory will be addressed with regards to chord progressions and understanding their relationship to songs and song writing. There will also introduce Tablature which is one of two forms to read ukulele music. The group will be able to play accompaniments to pop songs as well as duets, and trios of various kinds of music.
We will also have a Single Day class option on Saturday June 20 from 5:30-6:30pm in celebration of Make Music Day!
Cost: FREE!!

Intro to West African Percussion
For Ages 10+ | Stage 1011
Workshop Instructor: Ian Molinaro-Thompson
A single seminar that is an introduction to the fundamental West African drumming techniques and their cultural significance!
Students will learn basic West African drumming techniques, including hand drumming (bass, tone, slap), stick drumming, and mallet performance on the Dagara gyil. The course also explores the cultural significance of these musical traditions.
Students will learn the basic techniques used in the following traditions in West Africa:
- Hand Drums: bass, tone, slap
- Stick Drums: straight stick vs curved stick, open, mute, hand, etc.
- Mallet: Dagara gyil
NO INSTRUMENTS REQUIRED! We will have everything there for you

Broadway Bootcamp
For Grades 3-12 | Stage 1011
Presented by Brighton Music Center & The Collective
Give your young performer a summer experience they’ll never forget at Broadway Bootcamp—an engaging, high-energy program designed for students in grades 3–12, with classes tailored specifically for both younger (3–6) and older (7–12) age groups. Whether your child is just discovering their love for the stage or already has performance experience, beginners and advanced students alike are welcome and will be supported at their individual level.
Classes will include:
- Acting a Song
- Acting a Monologue
- Scene Study
- Playwriting
Join us for a week of creativity, confidence-building, and performance—where every student has the chance to learn, grow, and shine.

Beginner Guitar Workshop
For ages 7+ | Taught by Julie Michael
This fun and interactive class is perfect for new and early intermediate players looking to build their skills. Led by professional musician and songwriter Julie Michael, students will learn:
- Finger placement and flexibility
- Chord diagrams and transitions
- Strumming patterns
- Simple soloing techniques
Cost: $30 per class or $180 for all

Songwriting Workshop Series
For ages 7+
Whether you’re just getting started or ready to sharpen your songwriting chops, this four-class workshop is for you. We’ll dive into:
- Writing lyrics that connect
- Building catchy hooks
- Creating contrast
- Crafting complete songs from idea to performance
Plus, this series includes opportunities for networking and performing—perfect for aspiring songwriters of all levels.
