Young Artist’s Premier Workshop – Final Concert

Join us for the final concert to end the semester of our Young Artist’s Premier Workshop!
Disclaimer: This class is not encouraged for the absolute beginner. Participants should have >6 months of playing experience. This course will require students to be able to play “lead” melodies, as well as chords.
Our Young Artist’s Premier Workshop is a small group band consisting of 5 instruments; Guitar, Piano, Bass Guitar, Percussion, and Vocals. Students will be able to learn the basics of being in a band. Including but not limited to; set up and tear down of equipment, equipment maintenance, practicing in a group setting, organizing a set list, and best of all performing together!

– April 9 | 5:30-7:00pm
– April 23 | 5:30-7:00pm
– May 7 | 5:30-7:00pm
– May 21 | 5:30-7:00pm
– Concert Date – May 23rd
The class consists of 6 practices and 1 performance. All classes are 90 minutes for students to set up and tear down all equipment from BMC to the Library and back again. The Performance is the last day and Times are subject to change based on teacher’s availability, and weather.
To ensure a balanced band, we are limiting instrument slots to 3 each. As the class grows, so will the availability
- Class is for students in grades 6-12
- Students of varying skill levels are encouraged to join: from beginner to advanced
- Songs are chosen based on the ability of the group, with varying levels of difficulty based on the abilities of each player.
- Learn how to take some of your favorite songs from the practice room to the rehearsal space – and from the rehearsal space to the stage!
- Learn proper rehearsal and performance etiquette
- Learn about the equipment used for live music performances, as well as protocol for proper equipment setup, teardown, and maintenance
- Learn to read and make simple chord charts
- Learn how to run a rehearsal in order to put together a stage worthy ensemble performance
- Build confidence in students’ abilities to perform in an ensemble setting
- Engage in the collaborative effort of the musical experience!
