We know rental season is a hectic time for music teachers, and the last thing you need is more confusion or extra work. Whether you’ve partnered with us before or are just getting started, we want to make sure you have the basics of our rental program at your fingertips.
This quick overview is designed with you in mind—what you need to know, when you need to know it, and how we make things as easy as possible for both you and your students.
Here’s how it works, from start to finish:
1. Schedule Early!
Coordinate your:
- Instrument Demo
- Parent Rental Night
- First Rental Delivery
Reach out to your Ed Rep as early as possible. Our calendar fills up fast across multiple school districts!
📝 2. Two Contract Options
We offer two types of rental contracts:
- Rent-to-Purchase New – Brand-new instruments with payments applied toward ownership of the same instrument rented.
- Rent-to-Own Like-New – Pre-played instruments with lower monthly costs, rental equity applies toward the purchase of a new instrument. (not the used rental they have)
Pro Tip: About 8 out of 10 students choose the Rent-to-Purchase New contract. This option builds equity toward the purchase of a new instrument that becomes theirs.
🔧 3. Same-Day Swaps = Less Missed Practice
If a student’s instrument stops working, we’ve got it covered. Fast.
- Same-day replacements: We drop off a working rental instrument when we pick up the broken one.
- No classroom downtime: Students stay on track with minimal disruption.
- No extra steps for you: Just let us know the student, we’ll handle the rest!
You won’t have to wait days for a rental exchange or repair. We keep your students playing and your class moving.
If the student has a personal instrument, we have an online repair pickup form for their family to fill out. We offer loaners to them as well! Can’t have anyone missing out on important class time because of some leaky keys.
🛒 4. Ensure Students Have What They Need from Day One
Want to make sure your students have certain accessories delivered with their rental instrument?
We can make those items either required or suggested during the online rental process—so parents see them upfront and check out with everything in one go.
This ensures every student shows up with the right supplies (reeds, valve oil, tuners, etc.), and saves you the hassle of chasing things down later. Just send us your list and we’ll take care of the rest.
🎁 5. Classroom Rewards for YOU
You earn $5 in classroom credit for every student from your program who makes it to Month 5 of their rental.
Use that credit on:
- Repairs
- Supplies
- Donuts 🍩 (seriously)
If it benefits your students, we’ve got you.
☀️ 6. End-of-Year & Summer Rentals
We strongly encourage students to keep their instrument over the summer if they’re continuing. They don’t have to return if they don’t want to!
Why?
- Their rental equity carries forward with an active contract
- No interruption in practice or progress, summer lessons!
If a family is quitting, they must contact us before pickup (call, text, or online form). We don’t want accidental returns that wipe out equity!
