SUMMARY:Young Artist's Premier Workshop - Spring Series
DESCRIPTION:Join us for this group class!\n\n\nDisclaimer:  This class is not encouraged for the absolute beginner.  Participants should have >6 months of playing experience.  This course will require students to be able to play “lead” melodies\, as well as chords. \nOur Young Artist’s Premier Workshop is a small group band consisting of 5 instruments; Guitar\, Piano\, Bass Guitar\, Percussion\, and Vocals. Students will be able to learn the basics of being in a band. Including but not limited to; set up and tear down of equipment\, equipment maintenance\, practicing in a group setting\, organizing a set list\, and best of all performing together! \n\n\nClass Dates:\n– March 12 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– March 26 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– April 9 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– April 23 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– May 7 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– May 21 | 5:30-7:00pm\n– Concert Date – May 23rd \n\n\nThe class consists of 6 practices and 1 performance. All classes are 90 minutes for students to set up and tear down all equipment from BMC to the Library and back again. The Performance is the last day and Times are subject to change based on teacher’s availability\, and weather. \nTo ensure a balanced band\, we are limiting instrument slots to 3 each. As the class grows\, so will the availability \n\nClass is for students in grades 6-12\nStudents of varying skill levels are encouraged to join: from beginner to advanced\nSongs are chosen based on the ability of the group\, with varying levels of difficulty based on the abilities of each player.\nLearn how to take some of your favorite songs from the practice room to the rehearsal space – and from the rehearsal space to the stage!\nLearn proper rehearsal and performance etiquette\nLearn about the equipment used for live music performances\, as well as protocol for proper equipment setup\, teardown\, and maintenance\nLearn to read and make simple chord charts\nLearn how to run a rehearsal in order to put together a stage worthy ensemble performance\nBuild confidence in students’ abilities to perform in an ensemble setting\nEngage in the collaborative effort of the musical experience!\n\n\nRegister Now!

DESCRIPTION:Join us for Open Mic Night!\nFriday\, March 13\, 2026\n6:00pm – 8:00pm\nBullseye Brewing Co.\, New Brighton \n\n\nWhether you’re a band\, a solo artist\, a comic\, a poet\, we’d love for you to join us! \n\nBring your own food or check out one of the many great local take-out places here in town and grab some drinks of your choice from Bullseye Brewing if you’d like.\nBring you friends\, family\, co-workers\, acquaintances\, strangers you just met but have a passion for music and supporting  local talent\nWe’ll provide the sound equipment\, microphone\, and piano – you bring the talent!\n\n(equipment provided: speakers\, 2 microphones max\, cables to plug in your own guitar. No drums are provided\, you are more than welcome to bring a small travel kit or hand drums of choice!)\n\n\n\n \nWhat to expect at an Open Mic Night:We get it. Walking into a new space\, especially alone\, can feel intimidating. But open mic nights are some of the most welcoming and low-pressure events you’ll find. No expectations\, no judgment – just a group of people coming together to enjoy music\, creativity\, and good vibes. \nYou’ll hear everything from original songs and acoustic covers to poetry\, comedy\, and spontaneous collaborations. Every performer brings something unique\, and the audience is there simply to listen\, support\, and celebrate creativity. \nYou don’t need to perform\, and you don’t need to know anyone. Just come as you are\, grab a seat\, and take it all in. Who knows? You might leave with a new favorite artist\, friend\, or even the confidence to step up next time! \nIf you want to chat ahead of time\, give Andrew a call or text here at the shop. He’ll happily walk you through how the night works and help you feel comfortable coming in. Andrew will be running the open mic and will have all the answers to your questions.
